MEET THE Author from Aurora, MO

Janet Fisher

Hi, I’m Janet Fisher—a retired educator, author, speaker, and breast cancer survivor from Southwest Missouri.

My journey through cancer inspired me to write Don’t Fear the Storm, a memoir of faith and healing, and Praying Through the Storm, a devotional for those walking through difficult seasons.

God turned my greatest trial into a testimony of His faithfulness, and my heart’s desire is to help others find hope, courage, and peace in the midst of life’s storms.

Through my ministry, I share messages of encouragement, reminding others that God is with us—always.

A Journey of Faith Through Cancer

Don’t Fear the Storm shares my personal story of facing breast cancer by placing my faith in Jesus. Rooted in Isaiah 41:10, this memoir invites readers to find the peace and strength that come from trusting God even when the outcome is uncertain.

Whether you are enduring illness, supporting a loved one, or simply weathering life’s trials, this book will remind you that God is faithful through every storm.

Praying Through the Storm

Praying Through the Storm is a seven-week devotional by author and breast-cancer survivor Janet Fisher. Written as a companion to her memoir Don’t Fear the Storm, this prayer journal invites you to deepen your relationship with God through Scripture, reflection, and honest prayer.

Each week focuses on a different aspect of faith—healing, hope, gratitude, guidance, and peace—with daily spaces for personal reflection and prayer. Whether you’re battling cancer, walking with a loved one, or facing another storm in life, this devotional will remind you that God hears every prayer and calms every storm.

I didn’t know how strong I was—until cancer tried to break me. Don’t Fear the Storm is my personal story of walking through cancer, grief, and uncertainty with Jesus holding my hand.

If you’re facing your own storm—whether it’s cancer, fear, or something else—you’ll find comfort and hope in Jesus. You’re not alone in the storm. God is always with you.

“I will not die

but live, and will proclaim what the LORD has done.”

– Psalm 118:17
